About Us It is said there are two certainties in life: death and taxes. If you live in London, a third should be added: rain. Given this fact an umbrella is not so much an accessory but a necessity …….a constant companion.

In 1868, during the reign of Queen Victoria, Mr Thomas Fox opened a shop in the city of London, to sell such necessities. Since that time all of our umbrellas have always been and will continue to be made to the very highest quality standards that our customers have come to expect and require from the famous Fox umbrella.

Making A Purchase Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.

We accept card payments. If you are shopping from North America or anywhere else, place your order and your card company will convert the transaction to US Dollars or your own currency.

We accept Visa and MasterCard.. If you do not wish to pay online, you may send your card information via phone, fax or by post.

If you have made a mistake in your order and cannot correct it in the shopping cart, contact us and we will correct the mistake.

Please note: Although we do our best to make sure that the colours printed on our web site are reasonably accurate, actual colours will vary. In addition, subtle colour differences and textures may not be fully appreciated on some systems due to differences in monitors and/or display cards. Due to the fact that our products are all custom made, and can't be returned, you need to be sure that you can live with any colour variations that are possible from our scanning/photography of the actual samples.

Shipping And Handling We use a courier service for all orders. Shipping to UK mainland only is free of charge. The cost to UK Offshore and European countries is £30.00. To Japan, USA and the rest of the world the cost is £45.

Import Duty, Local Taxes and Related Expenses

Fox Umbrellas Ltd cannot be held responsible should local customs authorities wish to confiscate any particular item contained within the parcel, or charge any import duty. The recipient is responsible for paying the duty, any local taxes and any courier administration charges relating to the importation of the goods.

Delivery Schedule We will normally send your order to you in 5 to 7 working days . Please allow an extra 5 working days for engraving. International orders are generally received within 10 working days, from date of despatch, but this can vary depending on country and distance.

You must inform us within two working days if the goods are lost or damaged in transit so that we can make a prompt claim against the delivery company and correct the problem. Please quote your order number in all correspondence.

You agree that proof of delivery supplied by our delivery company is sufficient evidence to establish that goods have been received.

Back Orders If the raw materials are not in stock, we will contact you by phone or email to see if you would like to wait. You will always be contacted with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.

Credit Card Security When the order is placed at our website, credit card numbers are encrypted using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.

Guarantee We guarantee your satisfaction as all our umbrellas are made to order. Please notify us IMMEDIATELY (within 7 days of delivery date) if goods are faulty on delivery.

YOUR FOX UMBRELLA IS GUARANTEED AGAINST ANY MANUFACTURING DEFECTS. If the product proves defective due to improper material or workmanship, our authorised service network will, without charge for labour and parts, repair the product in the terms and conditions set as below. Fox Umbrellas reserves the right (at its sole discretion) to replace or repair the product. This warranty is only provided upon presentation of the original invoice or purchase receipt indicating the date of purchase, product type and retailers name, together with the product. Fox Umbrellas Ltd reserves the right to refuse free-of-charge warranty service if the above documents cannot be presented or the information contained in it is incomplete or illegible.
The Manufacturer's Warranty Does Not Cover:
· Outside cases
· Cost of postage back to Fox Umbrellas Ltd or the Retailer
· Country's outside of the UK
· Damage resulting from improper handling, lack of care, accidents, use in strong winds or normal wear and tear.
· modifications or adjustments to upgrade the product from its normal purpose.
· Repairs if the umbrella was not originally purchased from an authorized Fox Umbrella retailer.
THIS WARRANTY IS VOID IF THE UMBRELLA HAS BEEN DAMAGED BY ACCIDENT, NEGLIGENCE, UNAUTHORIZED SERVICE, OR OTHER FACTORS NOT DUE TO DEFECTS IN MATERIAL OR WORKMANSHIP.
If the problem you are having with your umbrella is not covered by our warranty, you will need to contact your retailer or Fox Umbrellas Ltd for a repair quote.

Returns Policy All our products are made to order, therefore, we do not operate a returns policy. However, please notify us immediately (within 7 days of delivery) if goods are faulty on delivery.
The customer is requesting that Fox Umbrellas Ltd will provide the "service" of customising and personalising an umbrella. All our umbrellas are handmade and made to order, as such we do not carry stock. By placing an order you understand you waiver your right to cancel once the order has been placed. You can purchase our umbrellas from many retailers who operate under the Distance Selling Regulations. We are exempt from the Distance Selling Regulations on the following grounds.
Contracting us to perform a service which includes the personalisation of the product which otherwise would not be made. This complies with part 13 (a) and (c) of the Distance Selling Regulations

All engraving (if selected) will be carried out exactly how you have entered it. Fox Umbrellas will not be held responsible for any mistakes you make, so please check your requested engraving carefully.

UMBRELLA CARE
Fox Umbrellas put a lot of time and effort into each umbrella we produce, with the right aftercare your umbrella will last for years to come.

Whilst our umbrellas are made to a very high standard they are designed for normal weather conditions. You should not take your umbrella out very strong winds or lightning storms. In very strong winds rain does not fall vertically as the wind “drives” the rain at more of an angle, no umbrella will protect you in these types of conditions. Wind damage does not constitute a faulty frame.

Always open the umbrella pointing downwards, lift the ribs slightly and slide the umbrella open.

After use, make sure you leave your umbrella open to dry (whenever possible).

Do not allow water on the underside of your umbrella and then close it, this will eventually cause rust.

When the umbrella is completely dry it should be furled carefully. Hold the handle and gently pull out any fabric that has been caught in the ribs when closing it down. Then lightly move your hand from the top of the umbrella in a circular motion, smoothing the fabric without twisting the ribs over each other. The “E”Band can then be fastened.

Never leave your umbrella wet and creased up, this will eventually cause damage to the fabric of the umbrella and will cause rust on the steel frame. Please note prolonged exposure to sunlight will cause the fabric to fade.

Remittance Terms On credit card orders goods will be despatched within 5 to 7 working days. Payments made by cheque, goods will be despatched after the cheque has cleared. We will confirm date of despatch. Please allow an extra 5 working days for engraving.
